Ginger

Long known for its power to cure just about any stomach ailment, it turns out this spice works in the region just below your tummy, as well. In addition to soothing cramps, ginger actually helps some women regulate their periods. Make a ginger tea by adding half a teaspoon of ginger to boiling water; sip on this during breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Cinnamon

Another spice that can be used as a tea, cinnamon can help regulate your flow if you find your menses particularly heavy. It also helps lessen the pain associated with cramps, and if you’re one of those women who get a sweet tooth around that time, you can use it in desserts.

Fennel
